About Tutor: Miguel C….

I have 12 years of teaching experience as an elementary ESL teacher in Minnesota. I have taught students from a variety of different countries and language backgrounds. In 2019, I was nominated for Minnesota Teacher of the Year. It makes me proud to see my students reach their goals! I have worked with students on English listening, speaking, reading, vocabulary and phonics skills, as well as content goals in other subjects (science, math, social studies, etc.), in order to improve their test-taking skills. While learning, we try to keep things fun with TPR movements, music, etc., as it helps our brain remember when we feel at ease. However, I also maintain high expectations so that students can grow as much as possible. This is why my students feel proud of their accomplishments – they worked hard and earned it!
