Grade A Guarantee Terms and Conditions
We will help you improve your grade to an A … or your money back!
We guarantee that if you complete one of the eligible programs offered through Etutoring.Live, you will receive at least an A (or equivalent) on your next report card or transcript in the school course that covers the same subject if you earned at least a B in the prerequisite course leading up to that school course within the previous school year. If you didn’t earn at least a B, we guarantee that your grade will go up at least one full letter grade (or equivalent increase). If your grade does not improve as guaranteed, we will refund your tuition, less the fee for course materials (as reflected in your invoice) that we shipped to you and shipping charges. The Grade A Guarantee is subject to the conditions below. If you have any questions, we’re here to help. To speak with a representative, call 1-866-596-0123.

Establishing Grades that will be Compared. In order to assess your grade improvement, we will need a baseline grade that you received before taking our program and a grade that you received after taking our program that will be compared to the baseline grade.
You must be enrolled in a school course that covers the subject covered in our program in the academic year during which you take our program or in the academic year immediately following the summer in which you take our program. We’ll refer to this school course as the “Equivalent School Course” and provide more details below. The grade that we will compare to the baseline grade will be the grade that you receive on the first report card or transcript in the Equivalent School Course after you finish our program. The grade must be on a letter, percent or 4.0 scale grading system.
The baseline grade will be your final grade in the prerequisite course in the previous academic year that leads up to the Equivalent School Course. We’ll refer to the course from which we determine the baseline grade as the “Prerequisite Course” and provide more details below. The final grade in the Prerequisite Course must be on a letter, percent or 4.0 scale grading system.
Below you will find what constitutes Equivalent School Courses and Prerequisite Courses for each program to which this guarantee applies.
Group Courses**:
Algebra I: Part A LiveOnline Course
- Prerequisite Course: Math course offered by your middle school or high school in the academic year prior to Algebra I.
- Equivalent School Course: Algebra I as offered by your middle school or high school
Geometry: Part A LiveOnline Course
- Prerequisite Course: Algebra I or other math course offered by your middle school or high school in the academic year prior to Geometry.
- Equivalent School Course: Geometry as offered by your middle school or high school.
**For group courses, we do not require you to establish a baseline grade at the beginning of the program.
Private Tutoring Packages:
- Due to the range of subjects offered, you will work with one of our Tutoring Managers to specify the Prerequisite Course and the Equivalent School Course. You will be expected to acknowledge the Prerequisite Course and the Equivalent School Course that the Tutoring Manager specifies in writing for the purposes of this guarantee.
Assessment of Grade Improvement/Grading Systems. If your Equivalent School Course grade on your next report card or transcript following the completion of our program is not at least an A (if your Prerequisite Course grade was a B or higher) or if your Equivalent School Course grade is not one full letter grade higher (if your Prerequisite Course grade was B- or lower), then you will be eligible to invoke this guarantee, subject to the other conditions of this guarantee.
If your grades are not presented on your report card or transcript as letter grades, then percent grades and 4.0 scale grades will be accepted based on the table below.
Letter Grade (No +/-) | Letter Grade | Percent Grade | 4.0 Scale | |
Min | Max | |||
A | A+ | 97 | 100 | 4 |
A | 94 | 96 | 4 | |
A- | 90 | 93 | 3.7 | |
B | B+ | 87 | 89 | 3.3 |
B | 84 | 86 | 3 | |
B- | 80 | 83 | 2.7 | |
C | C+ | 77 | 79 | 2.3 |
C | 74 | 76 | 2 | |
C- | 70 | 73 | 1.7 | |
D | D+ | 67 | 69 | 1.3 |
D | 65 | 66 | 1 | |
D- | 60 | 63 | 0.7 | |
F | F | 0 | 59 | 0 |
A “full letter” increase is equivalent to a 10-point increase on a percent grade scale or a 1.0 increase on a 4.0 scale.
The maximum guaranteed score is A (or 94% or 4.0). Where schools/subjects include pluses and minuses, you are guaranteed an A, but not a “full letter” increase if your Prerequisite Course grade is B+ (or equivalent) or higher.
We only consider grades as they are presented on relevant report cards or transcripts, and do not apply any weighting or conversion based on other factors.
If your school uses a pass/fail system for your Equivalent School Course, you are guaranteed a pass.
If your school used a pass/fail system for your Prerequisite Course but your school will use a letter, percent or 4.0 scale grading system for your Equivalent School Course, we will not be able to establish a Prerequisite Course grade, and you are guaranteed a pass.
If your school ordinarily uses a letter, percent or 4.0 scale grading system for your Prerequisite Course, but temporarily adopted an alternative system such as pass/fail for the period in which you completed your Prerequisite Course, we will accept the last grade on a letter, percent or 4.0 scale grading system that you received in the Prerequisite Course.
If your school ordinarily uses a letter, percent or 4.0 scale grading system for the Equivalent School Course, but temporarily adopts an alternative system such as pass/fail for the period in which you receive your next report card or transcript after completing our program, we will not be able to establish a grade for your Equivalent School Course and will not be able to offer a refund. If in this situation you are not satisfied with your progress, we will offer you a 50% discount on another program offered by us.
Our guarantee does not apply to schools/subjects that use other grading scales such as U, S, VS, E, or any scale not referenced above.
Submitting Guarantee Requests. To submit a guarantee request, you must supply copies of relevant official school records to us for verification of your grades and complete the form below within 30 days of receiving your next report card or transcript following the completion of the relevant program with us.
General. All determinations of what constitutes Equivalent School Courses and Prerequisite Courses, as well as all assessments of grades and grade improvements, are at our sole discretion. Decisions made by us on refund requests will be final.
